The Portuguese producer Paulo Branco will be homaged at FIGG, where ten of his productions will be screened.

The Portuguese producer Paulo Branco will be present at The Guadalajara International Film Festival (FICG) to accompany this homage that includes the exhibition of the films Até Nunca, Cosmopolis, Cosmos, Juventude, Cidade Branca, O Quarto Azul, Os Belos Dias de Aranjuez, Esta Noite, Os Mistérios de Lisboa and O Tempo Reencontrado.

FICG’s Programming Coordinator, Georgina Furber Avila, referred that "for Paulo Branco, cinema is more than just entertainment, it is a mirror of the identity and culture of each country, a window to the worldview of each artist and director” adding that by "distributing and exhibiting independent films, which the most cautious investors would reject as non-commercial projects, and believing in new talent, Branco contributes to preserving and giving international visibility to these cultural testimonies. With more than thirty years of career and a filmography that exceeds 270 films, Branco is, today, one of the most important and creative independent producers in Europe.”

The producer has just recently attended the Qumra Masters, an initiative of the Doha Film Institute, for a masterclass where he shared stories about his work as a producer in Wim Wenders or Manoel de Oliveira films.

FICG is one of Latin America’s most internationally acknowledged festivals and is taking place between 10 and 17 March.
