OUR MADNESS
Sinopse
Ernania is hospitalized in a psychiatric hospital in Mozambique. She dreams about her little son, Hanic, and her husband, Pak, who is a soldier of the war. In the meantime, a quirky musical intrument plays: her own bed. Ernania’s musical virtuosity, attracts the attention of the hospital nurses. One day, her song is played in a radio program and Rosa, an envangelical priest of “Rádio Moçambique”, goes to the hospital to listen to Ernania’s song. Ernania takes the priest’s visit as an opportunity to run away from the hospital.

Sinopse
Lisbon, 1933. In a theatre in Parque Mayer, during rehearsals for a new variety show, there are all kinds of goings on: unrequited love, small personal dramas and a constant battle against censorship, accompanied by skilful attempts to circumvent it. But above all, Parque Mayer hides secrets, terrible secrets, with the power to destroy lives at a time when the fascist Estado Novo (New State) is tightening the screws and freedom is increasingly under siege.
Parque Mayer is a portrayal of the whole of Portugal, where resistance to oppression takes the form of vaudeville to which the audience reacts with a standing ovation.
